Color + honesty – stick figures = new comic formula

Hey – I’m technically still on schedule since it is Monday!  I’m glad I got this done as I may need to take a break for a couple of weeks to focus on producing income.  Plusd next Monday we’ll be off to Great Big Happy Life, so a new comic in two weeks is most likely.

I don’t have much else to say this week, beyond 1) I have no idea where those lines on my shirt came from and 2) I need the universe to bestow some good fortune.

    Love it Arp!

  2. Sam says:

Fantastic, can’t wait for all the introductions :)

  3. I love it: the style of Scott McCloud, the graphical visualisations of what and why, the brave Heart… by the time I reached your final panel, I was thinking …”oh, wow, he’s game; oh my, this could get VERY interesting”.

    • Arp says:

I am game, but I’m freaked out too. I didn’t want to make something that was more about ‘me’ than unschooling in general – except the lifestyle looks different for everyone.

  4. Hey Arp, the new format looks great! I love the concept and can’t wait to watch you develop it.

I love it! It’s developed so far, so quickly.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by and leaving some good cheer. I’m not sure what’s next, but I likely have a couple of weeks to work on it. I do have a couple of blogs lined up that I may be able to complete as well.

Love the new format, Arp, though the stick figures were really cool too. It’s great that you are willing to get personal here, moving beyond ideology, generalizations, and abstractions to reveal your own unschooling story. That will surely inspire many. Can’t wait for more.

Thanks. I’m not totally sure where to start, and how much ‘I’ really have to do with it, but I’ll figure something out.

  8. Hey Arp,
Just wanted to chime in as well – what would be wrong about making it about you, you as an unschooling dad? You’d be following in some great traditions (family circle comes to mind and yes, I’m being serious! LOL!) …

Looking forward to watching things unfold and develop and thank you for sharing with us! I know for myself how I can be drawn to share publicly but then I cringe at the thought that I’m sharing publicly — and then I’ll get an email from someone, somewhere, thanking me and I’ll realize it’s worth it all!

    • Arp says:

Thanks Deborah :-) It still feels a bit weird, but making it personal does make sense. I wish I could devote more time to this than I’m able to, and I envision that happening in the future (that’s new for me – exchanging ‘hopefully’ for something more real).

New comic will be up in a few minutes ;-)
